Summer Chinook
Summer run Chinook season starts July 1 on most years and is a 2 to 4 fish limit, depending on the run size and year. This is determined by WDFW. These are absolutely amazing fish with sizes ranging up to 40 pounds! They are also a quality fish for the grill with nice red meat. These are very sought-after fish with their nice red oily meat and great fighting, then being able to target them in sunny Eastern Washington is a huge bonus. You get a quality salmon with a great fight and sun shining upon you, there are not many places in the world you can do this.
We fish these on the Upper Columbia River from Wannapum Dam all the way to Chief Joseph Dam, with some very good fishing in between, including Brewster and Chelan Falls. We catch these fish out of our 26’ Willies Nemesis with plenty of room for 6 people and their gear. This season often overlaps with sockeye season creating for some pretty amazing days in the sun! As with all trips, we fillet and package your fish so you just need a cooler to hold a big bag of fillets. Click below to pick your day and book the trip of a lifetime!
